Classroom Instruction

The heart of the affiliation training program is classroom instruction, which provides a forum for exchanging information

in an informal, working-level environment between our instructors and your embark/mobility personnel. Classroom

instruction is divided into a two day Equipment Preparation Course and a six day Load Planner's Course. The Equipment

Preparation Course is designed to train a large number of unit personnel to be able to prepare unit equipment and form

load teams to upload and download the aircraft. The course covers equipment preparation, weighing and marking

procedures, basic center of balance calculations, and aircraft and flightline safety. The Load Planner's Course trains a

select few unit mobility personnel to plan and implement unit deployments. It provides instruction in aircraft

characteristics, load planing and documentation requirements. (ref AFI 10-221 4.7).
